All ships have a natural lifecycle and when they reach end-of life, they have to be taken out of commission. Regulation (EU) No. 1257/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 November 2013 on Ship Recycling (EU SRR) Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships, 2009 SR/CONF/45 (HKC) are the two main regulations presently governing the Ship cycling industry. The objective of the Regulation is to reduce the negative impacts linked to the recycling of ships.
Our inhouse team of certified ship recycling and Hazmat experts provide on-site monitoring and reporting on behalf of the ship owner towards the progress of recycling activities in the yard and vessel, from the arrival of the vessel until the completion of recycling activity, while striving to ensure compliance towards safe operations, environmental pollution free and zero health /no injury procedures as required by regulations and in compliance with the Ship Recycling Plan. Monitoring is carried out by experienced personnel who make regular and detailed illustrated reports to Owners. They also involve themselves by using their experience to train the local crew by carrying out regular drills and empowering the workers with the necessary knowledge to safeguard their companies, their own, and their family’s interests.
